Living in a region of every expanding access to rapid prototyping tools like, 3-d printers, laser cutters, and all things CNC, the novelty of owning such equipment and downloading free files online  to use that equipment quickly wears off.   Teaching students how to mine the creative gems from their “wetnets” to stand out among the masses is key.  In the lesson we are presenting today, which is a 7 week long lesson or unit, our classroom becomes a design firm / think tank, that happens to have 3-d printers. We the teachers ,are project managers and the students are online vendors , “doing it for real”,   going public, and thriving.
